Title

Receive an update on the City’s Capital Improvement Projects.

Body

REQUESTOR:

Public Works Department

BACKGROUND:

Capital improvement projects are essential to maintaining and enhancing the City’s core infrastructure systems that support public health, safety, and quality of life. Strategic investment in water, wastewater, streets, and stormwater infrastructure ensures the continued delivery of reliable municipal services, supports future growth and development, and protects the community's long-term sustainability. These improvements also strengthen economic vitality by improving access to businesses, supporting redevelopment efforts, and reducing the risk of infrastructure failures that could negatively impact residents and commercial activity.

Effective planning and budgeting for CIP projects are critical to ensuring the City can maintain existing service levels while proactively addressing aging infrastructure and future system demands. These investments help safeguard public health and safety for residents, visitors, businesses, and industries throughout Farmers Branch.
