Title
Consider approving Resolution No. 2013-064 authorizing an interlocal agreement for coordinated public health services with Dallas County in the amount of $6,856 and take appropriate action.

Body
BACKGROUND:
The City has maintained a health services contract with the Dallas County Health Department since 1984. The agreement ensures that Dallas County will provide communicable disease control and laboratory health services to Farmers Branch residents, including the following:
* immunization services for Farmers Branch residents available five days per week at 2774 Valwood Parkway (old Justice of the Peace building near Senior Center) in Farmers Branch;
* a well child clinic three days per month at 2774 Valwood Parkway;
* a senior citizens clinic one day per month at the Senior Center, 14055 Dennis Lane; and
* communicable disease control and laboratory health services at 2377 N. Stemmons Freeway in Dallas.

The current contract expired on September 30, 2013. Should the contract not be renewed the immunization services, well child clinic and senior citizen clinic would only be available to Farmers Branch residents at the 2377 N. Stemmons Freeway location in Dallas.

The total cost for services for fiscal year 2013-14 will not increase from the previous year for the amount of $6,856. There are no other changes in the proposed contract. Fees charged to patients by the County are based on the patients' ability to pay. Funds are available in the Community Services Department budget for the health services contract.
