Consider approving Resolution No. 2013-016 authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Miller Ad Agency for marketing services and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
In July 2011, based on direction from City Council and in accordance with Strategic Plan Core Value 8, the City entered into a professional services agreement with Farmers Branch based Miller Ad Agency to market the City. The resulting marketing program was the Love the Branch campaign. The initial work done in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this campaign created several assets such as a website, boulevard banners, print and outdoor advertising and web and radio advertising. Almost two (2) years later, the response to the campaign has been very positive.
Since the completion of Phase 2, the Love the Branch campaign has continued with radio and online advertising. On a month to month basis the City has purchased this media through Miller Ad Agency.
DISCUSSION:
The current fiscal year budget contains $100,000 for the Love the Branch campaign. To date the City has spent $48,495 continuing the program with radio and online advertising on a month to month basis. Direction received at the February 5th study session meeting was to continue the program with the budgeted funds. Staff is presenting a seven (7) month advertising budget to continue the program through the remainder of the fiscal year.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Resolution No 2013-016 authorizing the City Manager to execute an Agreement with Miller Ad Agency for marketing services and take appropriate action.
