Discuss and provide direction to staff regarding City Council liaison appointments to external organizations.

BACKGROUND:
Annually and after election cycles, the City Council reviews the list of local organizations and volunteers who can serve as City Council Liaison. With the recent election held on May 4, 2024, liaison appointments will need to be reviewed, and appointments to various boards will need to be made.
DISCUSSION:
Currently, there are vacancies on the following boards/committees/events outlined below. A complete listing of City Council Liaison boards and programs outlining their purpose and definition is also attached.
• Sister City Program (scheduled for next visit in 2025)
• Dallas County Public Health Advisory Committee
• Trinity River Authority
• North Texas Commission
• Travel Expense Committee
Several updates were made to the Liaison list, including the removal of a City Council member liaison to the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee, as this board should remain staff-led, and the addition of a third Councilmember to the Travel Review Committee, as the City Manager cannot approve Council travel.
Once appointments have been designated, this item will be brought back to the June 4, 2024, City Council meeting for approval on the Consent Agenda.
