Consider approving Resolution No. 2017-049 adopting a revised Historical Park rental policy; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Historical Park is available as a rental venue for various activities including weddings, family reunions, church and local non-profit group activities. Historical Park rentals are available to residents and non-residents. The Historical Park rental policy was last updated in 2009.
DISCUSSION:
Changes within the updated policy include:
- Increases the window of time a rental can be made from one year in advance to three years.
- Creates an approved list of vendors, primarily Farmers Branch businesses.
- Specifies that City events have exclusive use of the facility.
The Historical Preservation and Restoration Board recommends these changes to the rental policy. With an affirmative motion of City Council, this updated policy will become effective immediately.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2017-049, adopting a revised Historical Park rental policy.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2017-049.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2017-049, with modifications.
3. I move to table the revised Historical Park rental policy for further study or take no action.
