BACKGROUND:
In 2012, a Commercial Facade Revitalization Program (Program) was developed and funded to encourage property owners to enhance the publicly viewed areas of their buildings. The Program is set up as a single payment reimbursement to property owners per building/business. Facade grants are available with a minimum project value of $2,000 and a maximum reimbursement of $50,000 per grant unless otherwise approved by the City Council.
DISCUSSION:
Josh Kubala, the owner of GWK Sigma LLC, has applied for the Commercial Facade Revitalization Grant for the property located at 4440 Sigma Road. The proposed improvements include removing and replacing exterior glass, repainting the exterior of the building, installing new building signage, removing old trees/landscaping and replacing them with additional trees/landscaping, and installing fiber-cement siding. The total facade-only portion of the project is expected to cost approximately $387,269. The adjusted grant request for this project is $50,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted amount of $50,000 approved in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 operating budget.
