BACKGROUND:
The subject site is located at the southeast corner of Josey Lane and Fyke Road and consists of three multi-tenant retail buildings and associated parking. The applicant, Victor Castro, is requesting approval of a Specific Use Permit (SUP) for an indoor commercial amusement facility to be located within Suite 216 of 14510 Josey Lane. Specifically, the applicant proposes to develop the building as a new padel tennis facility with four indoor courts and additional amenity spaces.
The subject property is located in the Planned Development No. 4 (PD-4) zoning district, which allows for uses permitted in the Local Retail District-1 (LR-1) zoning district. Indoor commercial amusement uses are permitted subject to the approval of a SUP. As a result, this SUP application is being requested to operate an indoor commercial amusement facility named the Kraken Padel Club.
