Title
Discuss and provide direction regarding City Council liaison appointments to external organizations.
Body
REQUESTER:
Administrative Services Department
BACKGROUND:
Each year following the municipal election cycle, the City Council conducts a comprehensive review of its liaison appointments to local organizations, regional agencies, or state-wide commissions. These appointments play an important role in fostering communication, collaboration, and information-sharing between the City Council and the various organizations that serve the Farmers Branch community and the broader region. Through these assignments, Councilmembers represent the City's interests, provide updates on municipal initiatives, and strengthen relationships with partner organizations.
Following the municipal elections held on May 2, 2026, and June 13, 2026, the City Council will review all current liaison assignments to ensure they continue to align with the interests, expertise, and availability of Councilmembers, as well as the needs of the organizations they serve. This annual review provides an opportunity for the Council to reaffirm existing appointments and make changes where appropriate.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council will discuss liaison appointments and provide directions to staff. A complete listing of City Council liaison boards and programs, outlining their purposes and definitions, is attached.
A new City Council Liaison position for the Woven Health Clinic is now available for appointments.
