BACKGROUND:
Per Section 2.05 of the City’s Charter, the City Council shall annually elect from the members of Council a Mayor Pro Tem and a Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, who will assume mayoral duties in the absence of the Mayor.
When acting as Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem maintain voting rights on matters before the City Council.
