Title
Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-012 casting a vote for a candidate in the runoff election for Dallas Central Appraisal District Board of Directors; and take appropriate action.
Body
BACKGROUND:
State law requires the Chief Appraiser of a county to conduct an election of representatives to the Board of Directors in odd-numbered years. The process outlined in the Texas Property Tax Code requires the election to be conducted and the individual entities to be notified of the results once the process is complete. The suburban cities of Dallas County selected their nominees for the Board of Directors, and the tallies indicate that a runoff election must be held. The top two candidates are Michael Hurtt of DeSoto and Brett Franks of Sachse. The suburban cities of Dallas County are asked to cast their vote for one of these candidates.
