Police Department

BACKGROUND:
Aligning with the City's strategy of serving our customers by achieving the highest standards of safety and security, the Police Department is seeking to expand its crime intelligence capabilities by partnering with the Carrollton Police Department to establish a multi-jurisdictional Auto Crime Task Force. The DFR program will utilize unmanned aerial vehicles and ground-based radar facilities for motor-vehicle-related crime detection, surveillance, and apprehension.

The establishment of the Auto Crime Task Force will integrate operations within the Farmers Branch and Carrollton Police Department's Real Time Crime Centers (RTCC), including the DFR program.
