BACKGROUND:
Farmers Branch Local Government Corporation:
The Farmers Branch Local Government Corporation is comprised of five directors appointed by the City Council. Each director serves a two-year term, must be a resident of Farmers Branch, and must be a registered voter. There are two expired terms on the Local Government Corporation, one for a Council member position and one for a City staff position.
Current members are:
• City Council Member (term expired)
• City Staff Member (term expired)
• Mayor Terry Lynne, City Council Member
• Pam Dehon, City Staff Member
• Jessica Alvarado, City Staff Member
Staff is proposing City Manager Ben Williamson for the City staff position.
Travel Expense Review Committee:
With former Councilmember Martin Baird resigning from the City Council, a vacancy has been created on the Travel Expense Review Committee, which consists of three members of the Council. This vacancy will need to be filled by another member of the Council.
Current members are:
• Mayor Pro Tem Omar Roman
• Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Richard Jackson
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to appoint _____________ and ____________ to the Local Government Corporation for a term expiring June 30, 2026, and to appoint _____________ to the Travel Expense Review Committee.
2. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
