BACKGROUND:
Keep Farmers Branch Beautiful comprises three residents of Farmers Branch, Pat Link, Craig Belanger, and Micah Harleaux, who were members of the Sustainability Committee. KFBB was an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful, which is devoted to educating and engaging Texans to take responsibility for improving their communities. Typically, this is done by organizing local cleanups, designing and implementing recycling programs, and organizing educational events.
DISCUSSION:
Unfortunately, KFBB, as a 501(c)3, is being dissolved. Two board members have moved, and other Farmers Branch residents need more interest in assuming the board membership roles and responsibilities. KFBB wants to donate its remaining funds to City programs that support KFBB’s mission, namely the Tree Giveaway Program. This is the last donation from the organization, and it will be used to procure the trees for the giveaway event in future fiscal years.

RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends accepting the final donation from Keep Farmers Branch Beautiful in the amount of $1,376.59 to be used to procure trees in future tree giveaway events.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to accept the donation from Keep Farmers Branch, LLC, as presented.
2. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
