Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-067, authorizing the City Manager to award the 2024 Large Meter Replacement contract to DFW Services LLC, in the amount of $1,957,300; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department requests bids for the Large Meter Replacement Project on an annual basis. Any meter three inches in diameter or greater is considered large. Large meters are generally located at commercial properties with large-volume water users. Over time, the accuracy of the water meters declines. Therefore, replacing large meters is necessary to curtail unmetered water loss and maintain revenue from water sales. The meters are prioritized for replacement based on a testing report, which factors in age, water usage, and repair parts availability.
DISCUSSION:
The Public Works Department released Bid No. 24-20 for the 2024 Large Meter Replacement Project. In response, the City received three bids, and all met specifications. DFW Services, LLC. submitted the lowest bid meeting all specifications for $1,957,300.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted Financial Impact: $17,288.67 will be allocated from the Utilities Fixed Asset Equipment account, and the remaining $1,940,011.33 will be allocated from our CIP Water Meter Replacement account.
