BACKGROUND:
The Planning and Zoning Commission plays a critical advisory role in the City's land use and development process. While the Commission's recommendations are advisory, they form the foundation for the City Council's final decisions on zoning, future land use, subdivision regulations, and development policies. As a result, providing Commissioners with ongoing training helps promote legally sound, consistent, and well-informed recommendations that support the Council's policy objectives.
DISCUSSION:
The City Attorney will provide the Commission with training specific to Planning and Zoning Commissioners.
