Title
Consider approving Resolution No. 2026-136 reaffirming the City’s authorization of a maintenance agreement for the Stryker medical equipment used by the Farmers Branch Fire Department from Stryker ProCare Service, in the amount of $56,085; and take appropriate action.

Body
REQUESTOR:
Fire Department

BACKGROUND:
Providing reliable and technologically advanced medical equipment is essential to the Farmers Branch Fire Department’s ability to deliver timely, effective, and high-quality emergency medical services to the community. Stryker medical equipment plays an important role in supporting emergency medical personnel during patient assessment, treatment, and transport, while enhancing both patient safety and responder efficiency.

In FY 2026-2027, the Fire Department budgeted $56,085 for Stryker’s ProCare Services to provide annual maintenance for the following Stryker equipment:
Power load systems
Stretchers
Stair chairs
LUCAS devices
LIFEPAK monitors
AEDs

Annual maintenance helps keep critical emergency medical equipment safe, reliable, and ready for use. This investment supports timely patient care, reduces the risk of equipment failure during emergencies, protects patients and firefighters, and extends the equipment's useful life.

This agreement represents an approximate $3,800 decrease from FY 2025-2026, due to items being covered under a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

The Council will discuss approving Resolution No. 2026-136, reaffirming the authorization of an agreement for the maintenance of Stryker equipment for an amount of $56,085. Although this amount falls within the City Manager’s authority for purchase, reaffirmation from the City Council is required.

Staff will be available to answer any questions the Council may have.
