BACKGROUND:
On February 5, 2024, Councilmember Merritt requested that staff provide a City Council discussion item regarding street signage in the Oakbrook neighborhood.
DISCUSSION:
Four street signs within the Oakbrook neighborhood community intersecting with Oakbrook Parkway have been updated with City-owned street signage, including a metal pole and sign blades with the City’s logo. Four remaining signs require updates to reflect uniformity on Oakbrook Parkway.
Previously, an economic development incentive agreement was utilized to provide an economic development grant for repairs of street infrastructure in the Oakbrook neighborhood community. An economic development incentive agreement for sign replacement provides an opportunity for signage to be updated and/or replaced to reflect uniformity throughout the neighborhood.
