BACKGROUND:
On November 7, 2024, the Farmers Branch Fire Department was awarded the Texas Fire Marshal's Association 2024 Achievement of Excellence Gold Level Award at the 2024 Annual Texas Fire Marshal's Conference in San Marcos, Texas.
The Achievement of Excellence in Fire Prevention Award is an annual award recognizing organizations for performance excellence in fire prevention. Established in 2008, the AEFP Award is administered by the Texas Fire Marshal's Association, an official State Chapter of the International Fire Marshal's Association.
To successfully receive the "Achievement of Excellence in Fire Prevention" award, the Farmers Branch Fire Marshal's Office was recognized for:

? Performance Metrics and CQI program
? Web-based Communications and Automation
? Certifications, Education, and Development
? Professional Organizations

Texas Fire Marshal's Association President Omar Garza stated: "On behalf of the Texas Fire Marshal's Association, I would like to congratulate you on receiving this Excellence Award for your community. The Excellence Award is one of the most prestigious awards a department can receive in Fire Prevention. You have now become one of the few elite cities in Texas to receive this award. The criteria for this award are competitive, and it takes professionalism, dedication, and hard work to be honored with this award.
