Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3220 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, relative to one-way streets in school zones along a portion of Amsterdam Road between Myra Lane and Cloverdale Lane and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department received a request from Cabell Elementary School located on Ridgeoak Way to establish Amsterdam Road as a one-way street, northbound only, between Myra Lane to Cloverdale Lane during the afternoon school zone hours, throughout the school year.
DISCUSSION:
After a field review and notifying the property owners, City Administration has determined one-way northbound traffic at Amsterdam Road between Myra Lane and Cloverdale Lane would be required in the interest of public safety during afternoon school zone hours, throughout the school year.
This item is consistent with Core Value No 1, providing safety and security for our citizens, visitors and business through progressive public safety programs.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3220 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, relative to one-way streets in school zones along a portion of Amsterdam Road between Myra Lane and Cloverdale Lane.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to adopt Ordinance No. 3220 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, relative to one-way streets in school zones along a portion of Amsterdam Road between Myra Lane and Cloverdale Lane.
2) Motion to deny Ordinance No. 3220 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, relative to one-way streets in school zones along a portion of Amsterdam Road between Myra Lane and Cloverdale Lane.
3) Motion to modify the plan to meet the needs of the Council.
4) Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
