Consider approving Resolution No. 2014-019 authorizing the City Manager to execute a change order to the professional services contract with Gallagher Construction Services in the amount of $148,000 for construction manager services relating to completion of the Aquatics Center project and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
On May 7, 2013, the City Council authorized execution of a contract with Gallagher Construction Services (GCS) in the amount of $481,000 to provide construction management services for the City's Aquatics Center project. The contract was specified for 18 months.
DISCUSSION:
Based on current projections, the project should be completed in May, 2015, making the contract in effect for 24 months meaning a six month extension to the contract. City Administration has negotiated with GCS and has an agreement that GCS would bill the City for four months instead of six months at a rate of $37,000 per month. This results in a change order of $148,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approval of the change order.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to approve Resolution No. 2014-019 authorizing the City Manager to execute a change order to the professional services contract with Gallagher Construction Services in the amount of $148,000 for construction manager services relating to completion of the Aquatics Center project.
2) Motion to deny Resolution No. 2014-019 authorizing the City Manager to execute a change order to the professional services contract with Gallagher Construction Services in the amount of $148,000 for construction manager services relating to completion of the Aquatics Center project.
3) Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Council.
4) Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
