BACKGROUND:
The FY2013-2014 Fixed Asset Fund for vehicle/equipment replacement includes one (1) replacement mobile hydraulic hammer for the Public Works Utilities Division. The vehicle being replaced meets the recommended replacement criteria based on life cycle costs, age, and utilization and supports the City of Farmers Branch Core Value #5.

DISCUSSION:
The City of Farmers Branch requested a quotation from the Houston-Galveston Area Cooperative. City Administration evaluated the quotation as to meeting specifications and desire to award the purchase of the replacement equipment to Associated Supply Company.
The FY2013-14 budget amount for this equipment is $110,000. The quotation came in $4,000 under the anticipated budgeted amount.

RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2014-026 authorizing the purchase of one (1) replacement mobile hydraulic hammer from Associated Supply Company through the Houston-Galveston Area Cooperative.

ACTIONS:
1) Motion to approve Resolution No. 2014-026 authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of one (1) replacement mobile hydraulic hammer for the Public Works Utilities Division in the total amount of $106,000.
2) Motion to deny Resolution No. 2014-026 authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of one (1) replacement mobile hydraulic hammer for the Public Works Utilities Division in the total amount of $106,000.
3) Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Council.
