Consider approving Resolution No. 2014-048 authorizing the City Manager to approve an agreement for the purchase and installation of carpet for City Hall with Gomez Floor Covering, Inc. through the State of Texas Multiple Award Schedule in the total amount of $139,330 and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The FY2013-2014 Fixed Asset Fund includes the purchase and installation of carpet for City Hall. City Hall is 25 years old and has not been re-carpeted or updated. This project supports Core Value #5 and is part of the long term Building Revitalization Program.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Farmers Branch requested a quotation from the State of Texas Multiple Award Schedule. City Administration evaluated the quotation as meeting specifications and recommends awarding the purchase and installation of carpet for City Hall to Gomez Floor Covering, Inc.
The FY2013-14 budget amount for this project is $140,000. The quotation came in under budget by $670 under budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving the purchase and installation of carpet for City Hall by Gomez Floor Covering, Inc. through the State of Texas Multiple Award Schedule budgeted in the FY2013-14 City Budget.
ACTIONS:
1) Motion to approve Resolution No. 2014-048 authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase and installation of carpet for City Hall in the total amount of $139,330.
2) Motion to deny Resolution No. 2014-048 authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase and installation of carpet for City Hall in the total amount of $139,330.
3) Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Council.
4) Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
