BACKGROUND:
The 2013-2014 Capital Improvement Program Budget Non-Bond Utility Fund provides funding for the rehabilitation of water lines and sanitary sewers. The lift station is located off Hutton Road will be completely rehabilitated. The Hutton Lift Station is approximately thirty years old and is in poor condition.
DISCUSSION:
On June 4, 2014, two bids were received and opened for the Hutton Lift Station Rehabilitation project. All bids met specifications.
A budgeted amount of $1,000,000 is available for the Hutton Lift Station Rehabilitation project. The low bidder is Felix Construction Company with a base bid in the amount of $662,412.00. Felix Construction Company has performed similar projects in the past and has provided adequate references. The contract time is 180 calendar days.
This item is consistent with Core Value No. 5 providing functional, sustainable and well maintained infrastructure, facilities and equipment.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends the approval of Resolution No. 2014-054 awarding the bid and authorizing a contract with Felix Construction Company in the amount of $662,412.00 for the Hutton Lift Station Rehabilitation project.
