Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3295 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, Article II, Division 6, Section 82-95, amending No Parking Zones on portions of Venture Drive and Galleria Place; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Two separate businesses have requested parking prohibition within the City of Farmers Branch. One location is along portions of Venture Drive north of its intersection at Gardenbrook Drive and the other is at Galleria Place at its intersection with Galleria Circle. The parking prohibition will improve site visibility of oncoming traffic when exiting the businesses parking lots at Venture Drive; and along Galleria Circle when entering the intersection onto Galleria Place.
DISCUSSION:
City Administration and the Police Department find it in the public's interest and safety to install no parking signs along the east side of Venture Drive, north of Gardenbrook Drive and east side of Galleria Place south of its intersection with Galleria Circle. This will provide greater sight distance for motorists within those two locations.
This item is consistent with Core Value No. 1 providing safety and security for citizens, visitors and businesses through progressive public safety programs.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3295 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, Article II, Division 6, Section 82-95, amending No Parking Zones on portions of Venture Drive and Galleria Place.
