Title
Continue the public hearing and consider adopting Ordinance No. 3338 granting a Specific Use Permit for a 34-unit town home development located at 4060 Spring Valley Road, and take appropriate action.
Body
BACKGROUND:
This site is located within Planned Development Number 64 (PD-64) zoning district.
DISCUSSION:
This request from Evolving Texas (Vita Townhomes) will replace the existing Special Use Permit (SUP) for a multifamily apartment building with a proposed townhome community. This Specific Use Permit and associated site plan proposes 34 townhomes distributed among 4 buildings. A Special Exception slightly reducing the overall unit density of the site is included with this associated site plan. All townhomes will be 3 stories in height and will be 2 and 3 bedroom units. Each townhome will have an individual garage and rooftop outdoor living space. These townhomes will be sold individually and anticipated to be owner occupied. A Property Owners Association will be established and responsible for all maintenance of the building exteriors and common open space/amenities within the site.
RECOMMENDATION:
On July 27, 2015 the Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend approval of the Specific Use Permit as described in Ordinance No. 3338.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to close the public hearing and to adopt Ordinance No. 3338 granting a SUP for a 34-unit town home development located at 4060 Spring Valley Road.
