Recognize the winners of the “Name the Frog” Contest and announce the name for the frog mascot as it pertains to the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center Frog Pond.

BACKGROUND:
A “Name the Frog” Contest was recently held to select a name for the frog mascot of the new Frog Pond. Gordon Rostvold, General Manager for the DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas Hotel, worked in partnership with the City of Farmers Branch on this project. The DoubleTree by Hilton Dallas Hotel agreed to give a weekend staycation to the family submitting the winning name for the frog. In addition to the staycation, the City agreed to give a free family day pass with concession credit to the winning family.
DISCUSSION:
The contest was held with 184 entries received. Two members of the Parks and Recreation Board and Mr. Rostvold reviewed the entries and selected a winner. The winning name for the frog is “Tad”. Three separate entries were received suggesting the name “Tad” and Mr. Rostvold has graciously agreed to give a staycation package to each family that submitted the name “Tad”.
Winning families are present at the City Council meeting to be recognized and to receive their awards.
