BACKGROUND:
Increasing development within the west side corridors of Farmers Branch, along southern properties of Wittington Place has businesses along Academy Lane concerned with increased traffic along Senlac Drive and Hutton Road. Complaints have been received regarding two intersections along Academy Lane for vehicles exiting into the T intersections of Senlac Drive and Hutton Road. A stop sign is suggested on eastbound Academy Lane at Senlac Drive and westbound Academy Lane at Hutton Drive to increase safety for movement of traffic along those two intersections.

Councilwomen Reyes has received concerns of vehicular parking along Valwood Parkway between Albemarle Drive and Josey Lane on the bridge span over Cooks Creek. These vehicles are not of residents living along Valwood Parkway. These vehicles have been understood to belong to residents of an apartment complex located in Carrollton, just north of Valwood Parkway west of Josey Lane.

DISCUSSION:
City Administration and the Police Department, after assessment of the intersections, find it in the public's interest and safety to install stop signs at those two locations mentioned above. This will increase the safety of traffic movement along the public thoroughfares of the City.

In reference to the public awareness of vehicles parking along Valwood Parkway on the bridge span over Cooks Creek located between Josey Lane and Albemarle Drive, a no parking zone will be established, at all times, along the east and west bound lanes on Valwo...
