Consider approving Resolution No. 2015-101 authorizing the City Manager to execute a Project Specific Agreement with Dallas County for traffic signal improvements at Valley View Lane/Webb Chapel Road and pavement section repairs to Welch Road between Spring Valley Road and IH635; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Dallas County has provided financial assistance to cities within the County of Dallas for maintenance of Type B roadways. Type B roadways consist of thoroughfares and bridges of major cross county importance. The City entered into a Master Road & Bridge Interlocal Maintenance Agreement with Dallas County in January, 2013, which is effective for five (5) years. In order to participate with Dallas County, the City must have a Project Specific Agreement for each specific project requested.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Farmers Branch has submitted a request for roadway maintenance funding assistance for traffic signal improvements at Valley View Lane/Webb Chapel Road and pavement section repairs along Welch Road between Spring Valley Road and IH635, which requires the execution of a Project Specific Agreement with Dallas County. The City shall be responsible for the construction administration and any payments made for this project. The 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Program Street Improvements Bond Fund has allotted funds for both the traffic signal improvements project and pavement section repairs throughout the City. Dallas County will provide partial funding match, not to exceed $150,000 for these two specific projects combined.
The City and County desire to enter into a Project Specific Agreement at this time. The qualifying Road and Bridge Project funding is for the traffic signal improvement at Valley View Lane/Webb Chapel Road and pavement section repairs along Welch Road between Spring Valley Road and IH635.
