Consider approving Resolution No. 2017-002 awarding a unit price contract to Brandon Industries, Inc. for the purchase and installation of ornamental decorative signs and poles throughout the City; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The City has installed approximately 541 ornamental decorative signs and poles throughout the City since 2010. This project will install approximately 52 additional ornamental signs and poles in residential locations throughout the City.
DISCUSSION:
As these signs are custom made for the City of Farmers Branch, Brandon Industries is a sole source provider. The Public Works Department desires to enter into a unit price contract with Brandon Industries, Inc. for the purchase and installation of approximately 52 ornamental decorative signs and poles throughout the City. Funds in the amount of $60,000 are available in the 2016-2017 Public Works operating budget for purchase and installation.
Once this contract is completed the core of the residential section of the City will be completed.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Resolution No. 2017-002 awarding a unit price contract for the purchase and installation of ornamental decorative signs and poles to Brandon Industries, Inc.
ACTIONS:
1. Motion to approve Resolution No. 2017-002 awarding a unit price contract to Brandon Industries, Inc. for the purchase and installation of ornamental decorative signs and poles.
2. Motion to deny Resolution No. 2017-002 awarding a unit price contract to Brandon Industries, Inc. for the purchase and installation of ornamental decorative signs and poles.
3. Motion to modify to meet the needs of the Council.
4. Motion to table the issue for further study or take no action.
