Conduct a Public Hearing and consider a request from the City of Farmers Branch to approve the East Side Comprehensive Plan and appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Comprehensive Plan for the City was originally adopted in 1989. Updates were conducted in 2003 for the West Side and in 2012 for the Central Area. The proposed Plan for the East Side will update and supersede the 1989 Comprehensive Plan. The Plan sets forth a Vision for the anticipated form and function of the future East Side and provides implementation strategies to be utilized to achieve that Vision. Included in the Plan are a thorough review of the existing conditions and an assessment of the character, identity, and economic vitality of the area, as well as a snapshot of the current land uses and potential shared spaces.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the East Side Comprehensive Plan.
