Consider approving Resolution No. 2017-036 authorizing a unit price contract for the annual concrete supply purchase with Redi-Mix Concrete, Inc,; Authorizing renewals of said contract; providing for an effective date; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department requests bids for the supply of concrete on an annual basis. The purchase is based on a unit price. The City will pick-up a certain quantity of concrete, per cubic yard, as needed for street maintenance, curbs, gutters and sidewalk repairs throughout the City.
DISCUSSION:
Requests for bids for the annual supply of concrete were mailed to three vendors in our area. One bid was received that met specifications from Redi Mix Concrete, Inc The unit price bid amount for concrete picked up is $114.00 per cubic yard, which compares to $112 per cubic yard last year. Bids are based on estimated quantities since the amount of materials ordered fluctuates each year. Purchases will be made on a unit price bases using approved available funds within the 2016-2017 operating budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Adminstration recommends adopting Resolution No. 2017-036 awarding the bid for the purchase of 2016-2017 supply of ready-mix concrete to Redi Mix Concrete, Inc., with an option for renewals of contracts.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2017-036 authorizing a contract for the annual concrete supply purchase with Redi-Mix Concrete, Inc., with an option for renewals of contracts.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2017-036 authorizing a contract for the annual concrete supply purchase with Redi-Mix Concrete, Inc., with an option for renewals of contracts with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
