BACKGROUND:
The City's 2016-2017 Capital Improvement Program, Non-bond fund provides $219,773.00 for the replacement of the water and sanitary sewer lines along Shoredale Lane between Hollandale Lane and Fyke Road. The scope of work includes the replacement of the water main, services, valves, and fire hydrants, as well as sanitary sewer mains, service lines, and manholes. On May 17, 2016 the City Council approved the submission of this project to Dallas County for approval and funding under the Community Development Block Grant program, a federal program administered through Dallas County.
DISCUSSION:
On March 14, 2017, eight (8) bids were received and opened for the replacement of a portion of the water and sanitary sewer lines along Shoredale Lane, with all bids meeting specifications. The low bid was received from KIK Underground, LLC in the amount of $233,844.25. The contract time is sixty (60) calendar days. KIK, Underground, LLC has submitted adequate qualifications and references.
Funds are available in the 2016-2017 Capital Improvement Program, Non-bond fund in the amount of $219,773.00 with the remaining amount ($14,071.25) being provided by the Street Bond Fund and the Public Works Streets 2016-2017 Operating Budget.
This item is consistent with City's Guiding Principles relative to providing functional, sustainable, and well-maintained infrastructure, facilities and equipment.
