BACKGROUND:
On January 17, 2017, staff gave a presentation on brush and bulky item collection alternatives. City Council discussed the issue, then asked the Sustainability Committee to review and provide recommendations. March 7, 2017, Robert ter Kuile, Chairman of the Sustainability Committee, presented to City Council a potential policy regarding bulky collection and enforcement. City Council provided feedback. Staff has taken the feedback and developed an educational campaign and bulky collection and enforcement policy to be enacted on a going forward basis.
