Title

Conduct a public hearing and consider adopting Ordinance No. 3444 to amend a Specific Use Permit (SUP) for the placement of cellular communication antennas on the existing municipal water tower located at 3723 Valley View Lane, and take appropriate action.

 

Body

BACKGROUND:

The subject property is located north of Valley View Lane and east of Marsh Lane. This site is located within the One Family Residence-2 (R-2) Zoning District, which requires that all telecommunication towers and antennas obtain a Specific Use Permit.

 

DISCUSSION:

AT&T would like to add three (3) additional antenna panels to the Farmers Branch Justice Center water tower. The antennas are proposed to be installed on the same type of mounts that support the existing nine (9) antennas on the tower.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

On April 24th 2017, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the Specific Use Permit as described in Ordinance No. 3444.
