Consider accepting a donation from Farmers Branch resident, Charlotte Ray, in the amount of $2,500 to be used for Fire Fighter safety screenings and Police Officer safety equipment; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Charlotte Ray is a graduate of the 2017 Citizens Fire Academy and the 2016 Citizens Police Academy. She also gives of her time as a Citizens on Patrol volunteer for the police department and wishes to show her support for the public safety professionals that serve Farmers Branch. Her request is for her donation to be used to improve the health and safety of our firefighters and police officers.
DISCUSSION:
The Fire Department will utilize the donation to provide advanced cancer screenings for all firefighters and the Police Department will utilize the funds for additional safety equipment.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends City Council accept the donation from Charlotte Ray.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve the acceptance of a donation from Farmers Branch resident, Charlotte Ray, in the amount of $2,500 to be used to improve the safety of the men and women of the Fire and Police Departments.
