BACKGROUND:
As requested by City Council, Community Services presents an update on Multi-Family development within the City.
DISCUSSION:
Over the last two years, Farmers Branch has experienced a significant increase in the development of new multi-family communities. These new communities have been focused primarily on the West Side, but recent developer interest on the East Side is creating new opportunities for residential development in this sector of the City. This presentation will provide an overview of currently developed multi-family projects, projects that are under construction, and projects that are entitled for future development. Additional discussion will include pockets of the City where further multi-family development could be contemplated, as well as potential strategies to assure highest-and-best use development occurs.
