Consider approving Resolution No. 2017-084 amending the number of members on the Municipal Drainage System Advisory Committee; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
During the June 23, 2017 City Council retreat, City Council directed City Administration to bring forth an amendment to add one additional regular member to the Municipal Drainage System Advisory Committee. The City Council will discuss the option to add one additional member as an alternate. The Committee currently consists of four members, and one City Council Ex-Officio member. Below is the current board requirements:
1. One member be a City resident or HOA representative
2. One member be a community business representative
3. One member be a representative of the construction and development industry
4. One member who is the Valwood Improvement Authority Director
*One member of the City Council Ex-Officio (non-voting)
DISCUSSION:
As proposed in Resolution No. 2017-084, the Municipal Drainage System Advisory Committee would be amended to the following five (5) members and one (1) alternate member. Below is the proposed board requirements:
1. One member be a City resident or HOA representative
2. One member be a community business representative
3. One member be a representative of the construction and development industry
4. One member be a Valwood Improvement Authority Director
5. One member be a representative of the Community
*One alternate member be a resident of the Community
*One City Council Ex-Officio (non-voting)
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2017-084, as presented.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2017-084, with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
