Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3469 amending the City of Farmers Branch Subdivision Ordinance 1430, Sections 6, 7, 8 and Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances relating to plat application fees; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
In February 1983, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 1430 known as the “Subdivision Ordinance”. At that time application fees were established for preliminary plats, final plats, and replats in the amount of $100 plus $35/per acre. These fees applied to single family, multifamily and non-residential developments and have remained the same since the ordinance was initially adopted.
DISCUSSION:
Adopting Ordinance 3469 would increase the applications fees for preliminary plats, final plats, and replats as follows:
Single Family - $500 plus $10/lot
Multifamily and Non-Residential - $500 plus $35/acre
Based on our research of fees charged by other municipalities, the proposed platting fee schedule is consistent with the neighboring cities.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3469 amending the City of Farmers Branch Subdivision Ordinance 1430, amending platting application fees.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve adopting Ordinance No. 3469 amending the City of Farmers Branch Subdivision Ordinance 1430, amending all platting application fees.
2. I move to approve adopting Ordinance No. 3469 amending the City of Farmers Branch Subdivision Ordinance 1430, amending all platting application fees, with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
