Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3472 amending the Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Fee Schedule, Section 50-41 by adding a Fee for designated space at Farmers Branch for Select Soccer and amending the Historical park Facility Rental Fees; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Staff recently proposed, and Parks and Recreation Board recommends, that City Council implement a fee of $7,000 per year for select soccer clubs that utilize practice space at Farmers Branch Park on an ongoing basis. For this fee to take effect it must be adopted by ordinance.
Staff recently proposed, the Historical Preservation and Restoration Board recommended, and City Council approved, a revised rental policy for the Historical Park. The revised rental policy includes a new fee schedule that requires adoption by ordinance.
DISCUSSION:
The select soccer fee for Farmers Branch Park covers the cost of maintenance for the assigned spaces. Implementation of this fee has been discussed with the two clubs that currently utilize space at Farmers Branch Park. The Parks and Recreation Board unanimously recommends that City Council adopt and implement this fee.
The Historical Park Rental Policy was last modified in 2009. This revision increases fees to be more in line with similar area facilities. The Historical Preservation and Restoration Board unanimously recommends adoption of these fees.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approval of Ordinance No. 3472
