Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3475 amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, Article II, Division 6, Section 82-95, amending No Parking Zones on portions of Bee Street and adjacent street intersections between Springvale Lane and Valwood Parkway; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
Councilwomen Anna Reyes has been working with City staff regarding parking issues in her district along Bee Street between Springvale Lane and Valwood Parkway. The City has placed "no parking" signs along the east right-of-way of Bee Street between Springvale Lane and Valwood Parkway, however an ordinance to enforce such signs was never established.
DISCUSSION:
In the interest and safety of our residents, and to allow better traffic movement along Bee Street, City staff and the Police Department have determined vehicles parked along the east side of Bee Street between Springvale Lane and Valwood Parkway create site visibility issues for vehicles entering and exiting the streets along Rugby Lane, Albemarle Drive, Collingwood Drive, and Avenel Drive.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Staff and the Police Chief recommends amending the Code of Ordinances by establishing a no parking zone along the east side of Bee Street between Springvale Lane and Valwood Parkway. Furthermore, to include a no parking zone on both sides of the street to be no closer than within 30 feet from the stop sign at each intersection of Rugby Lane, Albemarle Drive, Collinwood Drive and Avenel Drive with Bee Street.
