Title

Receive a report on Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE).

body

The property assessed clean energy (PACE) model is an innovative mechanism for financing energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements on private property.  The recent extension of this financing model to energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) allows a property owner to implement improvements without a large up-front cash payment. Farmers Branch may benefit from a program such as this as a large percentage of commercial property was developed prior to the availability of energy efficient HVAC, LED lighting, fixtures, etc.  After a Study Session briefing on November 14 staff was directed to prepare a resolution of intent to establish a PACE Program for consideration on the November 28 Regular Session agenda.   Texas PACE Authority President Charlene Heydinger will be on hand to review the approval process and answer any additional questions about the program.
