Consider approving Resolution No. 2018-03 awarding the purchase of replacement treadmills for the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The Community Recreation Center opened to the public in January 2004. Cardio machines are available for use including different types of stationary bikes, treadmills, and various types of elliptical machines. There are a total of eight treadmills. Four treadmills were replaced in 2009 and the remaining four in 2011.
DISCUSSION:
In order to keep current, high functioning equipment in the inventory funds are budgeted each year to replace a portion of the cardio equipment. It is now time to replace all the treadmills. Staff has been working with Marathon Fitness, a Buy Board vendor, to purchase the treadmills. All current cardio equipment includes receivers connected to televisions to enable users to choose which program to watch. The new treadmills will come with similar equipment. The price for the new equipment also includes trading in the current treadmills.
The cost for eight new treadmills, with the entertainment system, from Marathon Fitness is $51,251.60. Funds are included in the 2017-18 budget for this purchase.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving Resolution No. 2018-03 awarding the purchase of replacement treadmills from Marathon Fitness.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Resolution No. 2018-03 awarding the purchase of replacement treadmills to Marathon Fitness.
2. I move to approve Resolution No. 2018-03 awarding the purchase of replacement treadmills to Marathon Fitness with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
