BACKGROUND:
In 2012, a Commercial Facade Revitalization Program (Program) was developed and funded to encourage property owners to enhance the publicly viewed areas of their buildings. The Program is set up as a single payment reimbursement to property owners per building/business, and in some situations, tenants. Facade grants are available up to a 50/50 matching basis with a minimum project value of $2,000 and a maximum reimbursement of $50,000 per grant, unless otherwise approved by the City Council. Since the Program's inception, eleven grants have been approved: 12879 Josey Lane, 12895 Josey Lane, 3212 Beltline Road, and 2914-2920 Valley View Lane, 12895 Josey Lane (Suite 140), 13610 Midway Road, 13740 Midway Road/Suite 700, and 13720 Midway Road/Suite 100; 200,4464 Sigma Road, and 4885-4887 Alpha Road, and 2275 Valley View Lane.

DISCUSSION:
The applicant, Gamburd Southern Division, Inc., is working with Brenco Industrial Services, LLC, and would like to propose the following updates to the property located at 2334 Springlake Rd. valued at $229,674.19. They are requesting $50,000.00; staff recommends 10% of total estimated project:

* Installation of 2 new 5 inch gutters and downspouts
* New asphalt overlay 1 inch thick on existing asphalt and 3 inches thick on new parking lot; cover open drain in front of entrance (lot striping included)
* Installation of 6 ft. tall wrought iron fence with rails and pickets and electric gate (up to 10 remote clickers included for employee entry) and one fire department required pull pin release.
* Installation of glass garage doors
* Paint entire exterior of building
* Installation of small CMU brick wall in showroom courtyard with metal shade awning (approx. 6ft in height)
