Receive an update on the iChoosr Program.

BACKGROUND:
During the February 20th City Council meeting, City Council was briefed on iChoosr and the Texas Power Switch program. This program has the potential to help many of our residents save on their electric bills through a group buying program. After receiving the presentation, Council directed staff to reach out to other cities that have entered into a partnership with iChoosr and are using the Texas Power Switch program. Staff reached out to other cities that have gone through the program or have selected to move forward with the program: City of Waco, City of Dickinson, and the City of Fate. Each City provided unique feedback, but all agreed that the program was a worthwhile investment and a benefit to their residents.
DISCUSSION:
Staff will answer any questions about partnering with iChoosr for the City of Farmers Branch. The agreement between iChoosr and the City of Farmers Branch is currently being edited to meet the unique needs of each organization, but the intent and fundamental structure are in agreement for the structure of the program and how it will function in Farmers Branch.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends moving forward and partnering with iChoosr so Farmers Branch residents can participate in the Texas Power Switch program.
