BACKGROUND:
Two Trees Management Company LLC manages the International Parkway Towers located at 14221 Dallas Parkway. This facility used to be the home of JP Morgan Chase prior to their move to Plano.
When JP Morgan Chase ended their lease, they did not take with them the majority of their office furniture. The office towers are currently full of used JP Morgan office furniture that needs to be disposed of prior to the facility being leased.
DISCUSSION:
The Fire Department has an excellent relationship with Two Trees Management Company. When this furniture became available the Fire Department was contacted and asked if we would be interested in any of the available used furnishings. As the Fire Department was preparing to request funding to update our all of our facilities office chairs in next year's operating budget, taking advantage of donated, ergonomic office chairs from Two Trees Management Company seemed to be in the Fire Department and city's best interest.
The modern, ergonomically designed office chairs have estimated value of $500 each.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approving the acceptance of a donation of 25 ergonomic office chairs for the Fire Department from Two Trees Management Company LLC.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve the acceptance of a donation of 25 ergonomic office chairs for the Fire Department from Two Trees Management Company, LLC.
2. I move to deny the acceptance of a donation of 25 ergonomic office chairs for the Fire Department from Two Trees Management Company, LLC.
3. I move to approve the acceptance of a donation of 25 ergonomic office chairs for the Fire Department from Two Trees Management Company, LLC, with modifications.
4. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
