Title

Presentation of a service award to David Murry for thirty (30) years of service to the City of Farmers Branch.

Body

BACKGROUND:

David Murry started with the City of Farmers Branch in April of 1988 as a part-time employee.  He was quickly promoted to a Labor 1 in May of 1988.  David was promoted to Equipment Operator II in October 1988.  In July of 2000, he was again promoted to an Equipment Operator III and in October of 2011 was re-classified as a Crew Leader.

David is responsible for mowing medians and rights-of-way with a large tractor mower.  He is also responsible for curb dressing (edging with a tractor) most medians and rights-of-way adjacent to City property.  In addition, he operates various pieces of heavy equipment such as backhoes, box blades, and skid loaders.  He assists in many renovation and construction projects including fence installations, concrete work, plumbing, and other special projects.

David has assisted with modifying backstops at Oran Good Park; building the Oran Good 2 baseball field; constructing Raymond DeLeon Field; and the Skate Park near the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center.  This winter David was on the team that completed extensive modifications of Jaycee Park.

David and his wife Delynn live in Garland and enjoy traveling and cruises; spending time with many friends and a close knit family; and, spoiling and taking care of their grandson’s Rhett and Easton.

David is passionate about his job and gets along well with his team members.  Please join me in congratulating David on 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Farmers Branch.
