Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3504 abandoning all right, title and interest in all portions of a 60' wide public street right-of-way recorded as Farmers Branch, Coppell and Grapevine Road, also known as Old Keenan Bridge Road; and take appropriate action.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Farmers Branch has been requested to abandon all portions of the 60' wide public street right-of-way recorded as Farmers Branch, Coppell and Grapevine Road. The right-of-way is located within Block B of the Westside Addition section 1 plat, south of Valley View Lane along the centerline of Old Keenan Bridge Road.
DISCUSSION:
The Public Works Department of Farmers Branch has determined that Farmers Branch, Coppell and Grapevine Road is not needed now or in the future. The Developer is pursuing the release of the right-of-way as part of a proposed single family residential development in the overall west side development project. Upon approval of Ordinance No. 3504, the City Manager will execute and deliver a Release and Quitclaim of Easement to be recorded by the property owner, affecting a full release of the City's rights to the easement.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Administration recommends approval of Ordinance No. 3504 abandoning a street right-of-way of Farmers Branch, Coppell and Grapevine Road within the Block B of Westside Addition Section 1.
POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:
1. I move to approve Ordinance No. 3504 abandoning all right, title and interest in all portions of a public street right of way recorded as Farmers Branch, Coppell and Grapevine Road within the Block B of Westside Addition Section 1.
2. I move to approve Ordinance No. 3504 abandoning all right, title and interest in all portions of a public street right of way recorded as Farmers Branch, Coppell and Grapevine Road within the Block B of Westside Addition Section 1, with modifications.
3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
