Title

Consider approving Resolution 2018-79 approving a Detailed Site Plan as it relates to signage for the multifamily development located at 14650 Landmark Boulevard; and take appropriate action.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The applicant, Jefferson Landmark LP, is proposing an amendment to the Detailed Site Plan as it relates to wall signage for a multi-family development, Jefferson Landmark apartments. The Detailed Site Plan for this development was approved in August 2016 with Resolution No. 2016-073.

The subject site is zoned Planned Development District 98 (PD-98), which allows signage in accordance with the City’s Sign Ordinance. PD-98 grants the Planning and Zoning Commission authority to consider and take final action on special exception requests, with the Detailed Site Plan being subject to final approval by City Council.  With this proposed Detailed Site Plan amendment, the applicant requested a Special Exception in order to install wall signage consisting of six (6) wall signs, at a size not provided for in the City’s Sign Ordinance.

RECOMMENDATION:

At the August 13, 2018 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the Commission unanimously approved the Special Exception related to sign area and recommended approval of the Detailed Site Plan amendment.
