Title

Consider adopting Ordinance No. 3538 to correcting Ordinance No. 3522, adopted September 11, 2018, by amending Appendix A “Fee Schedule” to correct a scrivener’s error in Appendix A “Fee Schedule”; and take appropriate action.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The City Council adopted Ordinance 3522 on September 11, 2018, amending the City of Farmers Branch Code of Ordinances, Appendix A “Fee Schedule” and/or related sections of the Code of Ordinances in order to better reflect the cost of certain services provided by the City of Farmers Branch and to reestablish a schedule of fees and charges related to the use and rental of City facilities.

DISCUSSION:

The water rate service for 20,001 gallons and over, per 1,000 gallons was considered by the City Council, but through a scrivener’s error was not correctly stated as $6.68 as part of Ordinance No. 3522. The City Council in the adoption of Ordinance No. 3522 intended to approve a water rate of $6.68 for 20,001 gallons and over, per 1,000 gallons as a part of the adoption of Ordinance No. 3522.

RECOMMENDATION:

City Administration recommends adopting Ordinance No. 3538 to correct a scrivener’s error in Ordinance No. 3522 by amending Section 86-276(a) of Appendix A “Fee Schedule” correcting the water service monthly rate for “20,001 gallons and over, per 1,000 gallons” from $7.36 to $6.68.

POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTION:

1. I move to approve Ordinance No. 3538.

2. I move to approve Ordinance No. 3538, with modifications.

3. I move to table the issue for further study or take no action.
