Title

Body

BACKGROUND:

The Planning and Zoning Commission has expressed interest in the past regarding allowing alternate types of pavement, such as permeable pavement and/or pavers.  Therefore, staff has arranged an on-site presentation and demonstration related to this topic at the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service located at 17360 Coit Road, Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Fouad Jaber, Ph.D., P.E., Associate Professor and Extension Specialist, will make a presentation related to permeable pavement and how it functions, including an on-site demonstration of various permeable pavement types.

Consideration of future possible amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance as it relates to landscaping and parking requirements, in support of reducing and improving the quality of stormwater runoff, is a City Council Strategic Initiative for 2018-19.
